I am thoroughly confused at this point. I am currently running Shiney ROM, but I have experienced the same issue on PA, XenonXD, AOKP, CM10 and a couple others. Every time I have uploaded a new ROM it has been a complete wipe with factory reset. Completely clean, no dirty flashing whatsoever...

My speaker went out on mine and I had to send it in for replacement. I think it is a hardware issue. Like you, I flashed several different ROMs hoping that might solve the problem, but it didn't. Weird that yours started working again, albeit for just a short time.

I'm not so sure that this holds true. Now it is hard to compare apples to jelly beans, however, I have the GNex and my wife has the D4. All I know for sure is that she spends a helluva a lot more time with hers plugged in than I do. I use my phone A LOT more than she does too. I don't know...
