Sounds like you enabled Reader Mode, in the quick settings in the notification bar look for a toggle called reader mode to turn it off

In the pen menu in settings, turning everything off will do the trick

I'm pretty sure LG sells them on their website, 10$ for one. (Or at least they did with the G Stylo) To turn off the pen detection stuff go to the settings app and the pen menu.

The Elite doesn't have official ICS but is a good phone w/coustom ROM (other then 3G) I have no experience with the Event but is suppose to be the Rise lacking physical keyboard.
