Just adding I'm having this exact same issue with my new Note 20 ultra vzw. Long press home does not do anything at all, regardless of which app I choose as the assistant.

Oh, I finally found an article stating this "freeform mode" isn't supported in Android N. How disappointing. Can I get my Samsung version back? :(

Ever since the Android N update I can't seem to get any split-screen apps to resize while my phone is in landscape mode (horizontal). I can touch and drag one of the sides over, but the line snaps back to the middle every time. This used to work fine in Samsung's version of split-screen mode...

Any news on this for Verizon users? Verizon's website makes it look like only the M9 is compatible with Advanced Calling. Yet AT&T shows the M8 as "HD voice" capable, so I am guessing the hardware is there... I'd really like to try out this feature on my M8 but I simply do not see the option...
