Moto X 2014 The Mysterious XT1092

So what do you think the as of yet unseen XT 1092 is? Here are my theories:

1. A failed phone designed for the T Mobile-Sprint merger. After the failure of the merger, both sides withdrew their support. Will likely never see the wild unless T mobile or Sprint reverses course and decides to carry it.

2. Google Play Edition of the X.

3. The smaller half of a potential Nexus duo. (the other being the larger Nexus 6 shamu).

4. As of yet un-launched international version.

What other ideas do you guys have?

Choice 1 seems the closest possibility, because the default Moto X Pure edition is XT1095, and the orther variants are close to that number.

I'm thinking #4 because there are more worldwide bands on xt1092.

XT1092 unlocked is an interesting device.
Swiss army knife phone.
My guess is Google Play. Door number 2

yeah 4th is correct, but its not un-launched as its already available in India.

I saw something about it going for sale in India, but I'm still puzzled why such a phone would have t-mobile and sprint bands.

LET bands 03 & 07 are actually used in Asia & Europe ..

But 25 and 26, are used by no one in the world other than Sprint,
12 is U.S. only (primarily T-Mobile) and some pacific islands
17 is another US only band.

Depending on what source you look at the 1092 won't have band 3.

So why would a phone with these bands (2, 4, 5, 12, 17, 25, 26, 41 according to andantech) be sold in asia at all? at least 12, 17, 25, and 26 have nothing to do with asia?

Is this some kind of super duper 'world phone'?

well this phone is 100% compatible with sprint. The phone also would be sprints first phone to implement there new LTE roaming agreement partners bands (Band 2, 4, 5, and 12) Rural Roaming Preferred Program (RRPP).. So it would have a lot going for it if and when it does land for sprints customers. Now terms of what we could be looking at... A Google play edition would and could seem likely, potentially another nexus (doubt it, but would be neat and a surprise), or another new "pure edition"... guess we wait... I'm looking to replace my wife's M7 with a newer phone and its either this moto x or another nexus 5 (if the phablet nexus is true).

Yes, the XT1092 has become the European version, and has bands 03,07,20,42, and 43. When I learned that the XT1092 was the model that was being shipped to the UK, I pointed out in another forum that the LTE band selection shown in the original specs didn't make any sense. Apparently, Motorola became aware of the mistake, and quickly corrected the specs on the Motorola UK website.

Well then this begs the question what has become of what Motorola announced as the original EU versions, the XT1093 and XT1094?
