Cannot change from default keyboard

I had been using another keyboard. A couple of days ago my (nonrooted) Moto X went back to the default keyboard and now will not let me switch to any other keyboard. I powered off--no help. I uninstalled the updates to the default keyboard--no help. I installed several other key boards--no help. Any ideas or suggestions?

Choose settings, language and input and select default to see the keyboards available.

I did that. The google keyboard is the only choice that it gives me.

Are all of your installed keyboards listed under default and checked off? If not checked it doesn't show when you click the default key to select one.
