You can go into Settings, Apps, and open the camera application and Force Stop it. You can also power cycle the phone itself.

I had this happen yesterday. Force stopping the camera app didn't work for me, I had to reboot the phone.

Re: how do i restart the camera.it says camera error .please restart camera

My camera just stopped working. I deleted cache... No luck. I deleted data... No luck. I forced stopped... Bingo! It works again.

I don't know what caused it to stop working the app would start but, when you would click to take a pic nothing would happen.

My phone moto G2 is now working As per your instruction I did it..thank you:):):):):):):):)
Thanx for Mr.Dungyole

What causes this? For the 1st time since I've owned the phone, I got this error as well.

Hi... I just got stuck with this problem in my new Driod xt1080 about a week ago.
I tried each and every method.
*Restart my phone several times
*Factory reset
*Wipe cache partition
But all in vain.
Then i start the phone in factory mode
And the camera works for few seconds and then again restrat the camera.
Now this time i was very curious to find the solution ...
I removed the sim card from the phone and restart it..
And now the camera was absolutely gr8 as it should me... I put the sim back and changed the network settings... And now its all fine.
The setting are as under.
1. Global data roaming acess>allow acess for all trips.
2. Preferred network type>preferred network mode: Global....

It works great now..
Regards..

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. https://motorola-global-portal.cust...prod_answer_detail/a_id/102360/p/30,6720,9277

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

This happened to me as well. After a week of trying several fixes, I ended up having to get a replacement Turbo from Verizon.

Thank you so much! I had the same problem and facotry resetting my LG G3 for days. After a random time (Completely independent of apps) the camera stopped working.
- Removing the SIM ==> Camera works.
- Putting the sim back in ==> Camera stopps after random time.

I havent figures out how to change the network setting to keep the camera working....

I purchased a new Moto e4 plus mobile yesterday. When I click on the camera, it says..Camera error..please restart camera. I have done all the trouble shooting available on the internet, but in vain. Kindly advise

DROID MAXX:
With classic "reset" approach, I did the following:
At phone's Apps list, I selected/opened the Camera App. I then Stopped It, uninstalled it, turned the phone off/on. Then, from the phone's Settings/Apps, "ALL" list, selected/clicked on the Camera app.

Just to be sure, I again turned the phone off/on.

The camera app is refreshed and working now.
