Vibration alerts gone...where to?

Where did they go? I used to be able to just use the side volume control and turn it all down and it would mute the ringer but allow notifications for texts and emails. That, suddenly has gone. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Setting priorities does nothing. The moment that the ringer turns off, the vibration icon grays out. I get it back if I turn the ringer to its lowest setting but I do not want that. At work, having just the vibration running for calls and texts was perfect. Now, I cannot get anything. It is driving me crazy.

And yes, I have cycled it off and on. Nothing resets.

Is it in Silent mode? Try pressing and holding the volume key.

I turn the volume key all the way down and it then vibrates showing the vibration, not the bell, on the screen. That used to mean rubber and sound off, vibration on for all functions. Now, suddenly, nothing gets vibration.

Anyone have any ideas? I also lost the automatic update on email/ gmail. Now, to update the inbox, I have to go into the program itself and swipe to update. REALLY annoying.
