I got it also. I'm on Gingerbread .595 deodexed and rooted. Wonder how this is going to go.

If I get the update notification, could I then SBF to stock Froyo and then apply the update? Will the notification for the update still be there?

You just sign up on the Motorola Forum and they pick you. It is up to them who they choose.
