Hello everyone!
I'm just a regular android user since 2021, when I bought a Pixel 4A and ran it with no issues until now.
I've always kept my phone in Android v12 due to skepticism about OS update on older phone models, and I was proved right: on August 19, I reset my phone to give it a break, not knowing it would force install Android 13. I was annoyed but moved on to see how it would behave. Due to moving and, wifi delay, I had to use my phone as a hotspot which didn't help things. The battery was already kind of weak lately honestly, but I didn't expect it to suddenly turn off and not respond until plugged at 41% battery on August 27th. Ever since it would freeze, turn off, restart and turn off randomnly. Only when I plugged it to my computer it stayed on.
I found a reddit thread on Pixel 4a Phones getting this from android 13 update, and getting better when rolled back to Android 12. I used the flash tools to do it but, the problem persisted. A tech contact said this looked like a battery issue, but recommended me to roll the phone to Android 11 and see if it persists. It did, until I saw it perfectly play a youtube video without interruption.
Ever since, as long as I leave a music or video file playing it won't crash and turn off. I just leave spotify running with volume turned off and are able to do my errands as normal, though I'm still waiting for a new battery. Regardless this must be some persisting software issue, but there seem to be no android phone techs in my area and googling goes to music app crash related issues... the opposite of this problem.
Anyone have any ideas? I can disclose more details if needed. Thank you for your time reading this and for interest and help in this odd case
