I'm due for an upgrade in the next few months and will most likely grab the bionic, however i would keep my dx for the time being if there's a 4' or 4.3' display phone with a physical keyboard on the horizon for vzw.

So question is has anyone seen anything rumored yet?

there is no 4inch plus unit with keyboard coming to verizon.. the Droid3 will not be a PLUS sized unit...

I currently have a BlackBerry and have very much preferred a physical keyboard. I thought I found the perfect match in the Merge, only to just be teased. So, I've almost accepted the fact that I'm just going to have to get an all touchscreen device. The only thing that would hold me back is knowing that a slider or physical keyboard would be coming soon. But, based on what you say, that pretty much makes the decision for me. It looks very much like a TBolt or Bionic for me (with the faint possibility of the Inc 2).

Whats funny is that I had pretty much written it off and with all of the new phones coming out seem to have at least 4-in screens, I'm not sure if I will even go for the smaller screen on the Merge. Maybe give the Merge some Viagra to get a little bigger.:)

I was hoping for a keyboard that wasnt virtual...can upgrade at anytime. so what to do.

After CES, some people (including me) were disappointed they didn't see what they wanted. Phil hinted we were freaking out around 30 (might be a bit more than the recommended max of 10) and then hinted people pound some vicodin and calm down (well only partly true). Plus he gave some dates of other events. And since any research other than that for my thesis proposal is good research, I did that instead.

I was going to wait through Mobile World Congress and see what news comes out. It seems like a great bet for device announcement. That starts V-day so great news if you love your devices.

CTIA is next late month but I might be able to wait that long. It looks like it is more for things other than phones based on what I saw on the site. So there might not be many announcements but I genuinely don't know.

I plan on getting a phone around mid Q2 - gotta be able to work my fantasy baseball magic away from a computer. I might end up without a qwerty and would be disappointed about it regardless of how sweet some other phone is.

Yeah, I'm gonna see what comes out at Mobile World Congress. I prefer qwerty, but if it has to be virtual than I guess thats what it will be.

I'm ready for a upgrade and can wait but getting tired of my tour!

I'm glad the og droid is still running strong (as long as your willing to root). The only thing the upcoming phones have that I want is dual core (ok, maybe more internal memory..)

but fact is, rooted og droid is as good as anything else out there til dual core phones come to market. As such, I'll be waiting for a dual core phone with physical keyboard. (I hope it comes out before my ne2 expires..) /crossesfingersfordroid3
