how do I remove the odd new icon beside the time on each message in my Messages message threads?

I have a Samsung A5. Recently I noticed a new icon in my Messages app that puts an mini orange Messages icon beside each message in all of my message threads. It does not do anything if you touch it and is just a visual annoyance. It is right to the left of the time stamp on each of the messages and also on the top right of the "Send" button for new messages.

Hopefully someone know how to remove this?

This icon is the SIM icon in a dual SIM phone. This icon cannot be removed but can be modified. When you check the SIM Card settings there is an option to change the icon. Settings->Connections->SIM Card Manager. Then click the SIM card and then the 'Icon' selection.
