Note II - black screen (but responsive screen / sounds)

[AC Question]

Dropped my Note 2 phone on the ground and the screen is now black. The phone turns on normally and even makes responsive sounds to finger input (like swiping, etc).

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can resolve this short of buying a new digitizer? I took the phone apart, unconnected the digitzer cable and reattached them but the screen is still black.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! If you already checked for loose connections, then you'll have to get the screen (and not just the digitizer) replaced. Bring it to a repair shop, or if you're handy, look for replacement screens and DIY screen repair videos online.
