Is the Ultra hump a turn off?

Any good case will definitely be designed with a rise to make the case hide the bump.
I believe most cases will disguise it by raising the lip to offer protection. In other words, the cases will have the same bump as the phone. My Ringke case certainly does.

The protruding bump on the Note 20 Ultra makes the S20 Ultra's look none existence. Pictures don't prepare you enough for seeing it in person lol.
If you use a minimal case it might be an issue. Some of the moderate ones will make flush. If you opt for something more protective it will be recessed.

The hump certainly wouldn't stop me from buying as I already ordered and I'm also used to it with the S20 Ultra.

Ultra hump?

Unless you want the entire phone to be as thick as the camera hump it's unavoidable when you have the largest camera sensor of any phone and a periscope lens next to it for telephoto.

Glass phones feel cheap and slippery and require a case anyway, so as long as the case allows the phone to sit flat on a desk I don't care about the hump.

comeing from someone who got the s20 ultra it and the gimmick 108mp it is not worth the money it is a great daily driver but if your doing it for the cam stay away from samsung unless they use a sony cam next year.

go HUAWEI P40 pro plus or anything from vivo or Xiaomi

Understood and the major reason it sticks out more is because the Note is thinner. It's still nothing that a case can't diminish or eliminate. The additional protusion is baseless unless you go caseless.

Not everyone that owns the S20 Ultra feels that way.

It does bother me that Samsung didn't look for another way. When they moved the center mounted camera on the note 9 to the corner on the note 10 plus, it caused it not to lie perfectly flat. My choice of case made it worse, but a protruding camera on a phone that you can write on with a stylus seems to be a poor design choice. Makes it rather hard to write on if laying flat on a table. If I pick up the phone to write, my handwriting gets messier. I prefer to use no case, but these edge screen devices seem to detect my fingers when I hold the phone so I run a case to put a bit of distance between my fingers and the screen edges. I ended up ordering the ESR case with the kickstand in hopes the kickstand will stabilize it somewhat.

The hump insures that aficionados will know you've outspent them on a phone; for the moment at least. There is that.

The Note hasn't been a good device for writing on or creating artwork since the Note 5 due to their poor design choices. The narrow aspect combined with curved edges killed the usefulness of the S Pen for me.

A phone is going to have a lot more limitations than say a tablet PC. I used to use convertible laptops back in school with a stylus to take notes on one note. But school notes are vastly different than me nothing down to-do items during work meetings. I can actually do the same as my work issues me a tablet PC, but I can't jot things down on my PC if I'm the one presenting during a meeting. My phone allows me to do that. I am excited about the new recording functionality. Hopefully that feature can record during phone calls as most meetings are over the phone now. The ability to use these features and sync with one note could be a big help for me as well as I can sync my notes to my PC automatically.
