Is the Ultra hump a turn off?

I don't see this phone as a no case type ..but if you plan that way I would get a screen protector and face that bad boy screen down ...

That's another way to go, if I used screen protectors. I really like the finish Samsung used on the Note20 Ultra, but there are other things keeping me away from it. The question just happens to be about the hump.

Yeah the feel of the matte is great...they should go that way going forward and add colors ..it would be great they just made the phone thicker ...I bet plenty people wouldn't mind the extra weight ...possible higher capacity battery ...Note is the workhorse phone anyway ...

I just looked at the Ultra in the local phone shop and tbh I was surprised that the hump didn't look too bad, after reading some of the stuff I was expecting it to be a bit of a monstrosity but it wasn't, happy about that but I would have loved my phones regardless.

Not everyone that owns the S20 Ultra feels that way.

most of my pain comes from if i rather not have an otterbox like i would rather not. I have learned from my s7 edge that as long as i am careful a normal 3 dollar tpu clear case for my daily life works fine. it has even traveled with me on a plane with a tpu case and it was fine.

the problem i found is the cam gets marked up really easy and i have a normal line on the back of the cam glass now not anywhere near the cams the self but something i will see if i look at it.

i should not have to worry about putting it on a table and marking up the back cam.

my post before was mostly me and my hate of 108mp cuss you can get a redmi for like 400 dollars if you really want to try 108mp and learn you really hate it.

or if you really need a super cam like that just buy a DSLR used

With no Google? Hard pass.

surprisingly no google is very easy to get over when you just use or sideload an apk for a 3rd party youtube fork or just do what others have found ways to do and thats reinstall the youtube app and other google apps.

but honestly you can still get gmail just need to log in on the mail app you can still get youtube you just need a 3rd party app.

and honestly the chips they use suck so little power that on my honor7x for example the mate se to others i can get 3 days on that phone.

so i can only wonder and guess the higher end chips they make are the same or better on bat life.

Yeah with no Google it’s not even a consideration, even with Google it was a hard pass for me with their crappy software. Just because they have great camera isn’t enough for me.

crappy software what the hell are you talking about my friend? it is running andriod and still the same system you see daily are you talking about the skin it uses. just install nova or the google skin if that really matters so much to you. there are so many upsides to HUAWEI phones

I have always used the Otterbox Defender case so I have not once had a single scratch on any of my cell phones in the past 10+ years! The camera bump is absolutely gone and well protected with this case!

It's sexy...
I love the bump :-)

Is it still too big?? Yes. Stick out too much?? Yes. But, IMO, it’s probably the best looking part of the phone!... Especially in Silver with the Mystic White. ;)

I’ve said before the N20U that the S20U’s camera module was just offensive looking... still do, lol. I don’t know what it is about it but it’s just big and ugly. Samsung basically did it’s best to black it out, maybe stick a 100X SPACE ZOOM to maybe give it a cool factor.

But I think Samsung realized it and even though they weren’t giving up on the big camera module, at least they decided to own it and try to do something about it than they did the S20U.

They made the proportions of the module the same as the Notes outer proportions. It has a more balanced look. Then instead of trying to hide the whole thing in black, they really put a lot of detail in the every part of the module from the other edge of the module to the polished bezel around the lenses and even an added ring outside the bezel.

I don’t know if it’s a great camera system for all that huge-ness... but it sure does look nice. :p

I wouldn't care, since I'd get it case that protects it anyway. The camera functionality is more important to me than its appearance.

I'm not going to read almost 80 responses to this, so forgive me if this has been said... A good case eliminates this from being an issue. I have UAG Monarch, and the phone looks absolutely awesome with it

You don't need An Otterbox size case to protect the hump.
