Disable Home Button from waking phone

How do you disable the home button from awakening the phone. I keep mine in my pocket and because of its sensitivity, it awakens the phone which cases it to heat up and flatten the battery.

I don't think you can disable it with the stock options. I remember there was an option in WidgetLocker to prevent waking up the device with the volume rocker, but AFAIK, the Power and Home Buttons are both system-linked to powering on the screen.

There are some Home-Button-Mapping 3rd party apps in the Play Store, but I think most of them require you to be rooted.

Thanks, I contacted Samsung and their reply was to get a cover. Entirely unsatisfactory!

Thanks Samsung. Your answer to me is to keep the phone out of my pocket. Morons. I carry two phones, work and personal. Both phones in my pockets wake up, turn on the flashlight, turn off the bluetooth. Very annoying. It seems Samsung phones are turning into iphones. Take away the memory slot and the removable battery.

I have a cover on my phone and it just pushes on the home button in my pocket, waking the phone. Why isn't there settings for the functions of the home button. (ie Disabling the wake up function)?

I saw some recommend slidelock app from playstore, which apparently allows home button to be ignored for wakeup. Dunno if it works.
edit: Tried two that say slide lock in the name neither appeared to do this feature, or i just could not find it....

Clearly you are the only one who would ever think of putting a phone in a pocket. You have two hands, why not dedicate a hand to each phone? Its really the third phone thats the problem.
