Couple of different shots on tonight's 5K.
Shot at dusk, street and car lights on. The shots are mundane but the lens still impresses me the way it sucks light in.


Cabbage fields cut, swathes of pink and purple.

Coal sub station, all that remains of our power station that came down 3 years ago.

When you say 5k, do you run 5k every night or walk? man that's awesome!

Jog it mostly.
Carrying 6kg, about to up it in coming weeks.

I have lots of cool hospital pix, but unfortunately they were taken on a OnePlus3T.

Oh wow. I hope you doing ok. My daughter had to have a kidney transplant when she was 10. She 18 now. She got one of mine. Dr said she will most likey need another one later in life.

I got one of my dad's 1st time round, now have one of my sister's. Got 15 years out of first one.

I used a slow shutter speed to cause the car lights to appear streaked:
- Put camera in Pro mode
- Set the lowest possible ISO (50)
- Set shutter to 1/2 second
- Hold the camera very still and shoot

This will work only in a dark environment since the long shutter speed will cause the picture to overexpose.

To do it the same thing in regular light, like the above photo with the river, I used Auto mode and took a burst of 10 shots by holding down the shutter. I then used Photoshop to combine the 10 images into 1 image.

We had a bouvier that would do the same while eating and just hug her bowl like it was the last meal she's ever going to eat!

Beautiful day today here in New England so I walked to work and shot some photos along the way.

I see a lot of ships dock at the cruise port every day but the "crown princess" is the biggest one I've ever seen!

I even took a closeup of her and the multi-storied cruise port building next to each other and she's bigger! Interesting historical fact - the Boston cruise port used to be a WW2 munitions factory.

I then passed the Boston Convention Center which is a cool building. Sun was annoyingly straight in my focal zone. I really need to start carrying my polarizing filter with me on these walks.

And since I'm the photo comparison guy, here's the exact same photo I took last year with the Note 7! (The Note 7 photo looks like I may have run it through snapseed with an HDR filter; bummer would have been good to compare both full auto pics)

Then I got to downtown and there was this ice sculpture looking thing in the water. Except it wasn't ice.

A great 25 minute photo walk on a beautiful day.

Another grey day, albeit quite mild.

North Berwick Law. My sisters house just out of shot. Can just make out the jaw bone of a whale caught locally on the top. Also WW2 gun placements and a church up there.

And a wee coo in the field next to it.
