No display on? No Equalizer!!

I have Verizon's Note 9 - something happened (at least I observed I think) once I got upgraded to Android 10... Typically, I could select whatever on the phone, and use BUILD IN super efficient Equalizer... But lately it only works AS LONG AS SCREEN IS ON on my phone... Ssssssssssssssssssssssuuuuuuuuuper annoying bug!! (or they changed it) - this way I could have listened to many non paid streaming services like Pandora or Amazon, or Spotify and sound was still pretty decent once trebles and base I tweaked using EQ... Anybody can tell me if you have same problem? I called Verizon but than they send me to Samsung... Anybody knows the solution?? thx!!

I would start with clearing cache in recovery

Welcome to Android Central! Go to the Battery Optimization section of your system settings and see if you can find the equalizer app there. If so, then turn off Battery Optimization for it, if you can.
