Deciding between VZW or unlocked Note 9 - does it impact RCS?

In my research of what advantages there are to the VZW Note 9 over the unlocked version, I had read that RCS may not be supported on the unlocked version. I know Big Red is late to the game anyhow with RCS, but I'm curious of the uocked variant wouldn't support it.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

RCS is supported on Google's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, so it has nothing to do with SIM-locking or not (which can affect some apps). Gut I can't see Verizon not allowing a Google app to work, and Android Messages (which does whatever has been done in RCS so far) is a Google app.

As far as I know, RCS is carrier dependent. If you're using the unlocked Note 9 that has RCS available, RCS wouldn't work if you were using it on Verizon.
