So yes, it’s fake, but that does not negate the fact that there is very little common sense left in the world, and yes, people do some incredibly crazy stuff!

Which, in turn, would not negate the fact that some people are incredibly gullible. Even without reading the satire disclaimer, all you'd have to do is click on the site's front page to see that it's not real, and conclude that it should not be trusted in the absence of corroboration elsewhere. But some people do zero fact-checking before deciding to believe or propagate something astonishing.
