Why is youtube erroring out all of a sudden?

Hi,

I have previously owned Samsungs Galaxy devices S2, S3, S3 4G and the S5 and all of them have been golden with youtube playing without error or fault. Come september last year I upgraded to a Sony Xperia Z5 and everything was peachy.

Fast forward a few months and now I am regularly being stonewalled by youtube failing by saying something happened and that I should touch to retry. Touching to retry fixes absolutely nothing and I can keep clicking from here on end and till kingdom come.

I have tried:
- Uninstalling all updates
- Reinstalling all updates
- Clearing cache in the app
...

So far the only thing that works is a reboot, which is rather tedious and annoying when you are in the middle of watching a longer video on youtube >.<.

Worst of all is that it happens at random. ie today I had just used youtube while going to a shop for some shopping. I pressed the power button and put the phone in my pocket. When i came out from the store and wanted to continue it was erroring out again >.<.

Any good tips, hints or pointers as to how I can stop this error from ever happening?
