So I unexpectedly ended up with a Korean Galaxy S3

My father in Korea picked up an S3 in a restaurant, contacted the owner. And the owner told my father to keep the S3 since the original owner already claimed for the lost S3 through his insurance.

Anyways, I want to know whether it is possible to use the Korean S3 in Canada.

And whether any limitations for using the Korean Galaxy S3 exists.

I would appreciate it if you could let me know!

Thanks!

I thought once phones are reported missing, they're rendered useless? Something to do with the phone company blocking the use of the missing phone. That's how it is in the US though, not sure how Canada and other countries do it.

Yeah, that kind of service does exist in Korea as well.

However, there is still possibility that outside Korea, it might be fine.

I will find out soon :P

It just does not make sense that I would not be able to use the phone even if the original owner said it is okay to keep the phone.

The Original Owner does not own the phone. It now belongs to the Insurance Co he filed a claim with.
