I am in Denver, CO and am going to pick up the S4. I prefer Sprint as a carrier, with Verizon second in line, and AT&T third in line.
I may be moving back to Canada in about a year and I want to make sure that the phone, if unlocked will work on a Canadian carrier.
However, my brief Wikipedia search showed me the LTE bands that US and Canadian carriers use:
Operator, Frequency,(MHz), and Band:
US carriers:
Sprint Nextel, 1900, 25
Verizon Wireless, 700, 13
AT&T Mobility, 700/1700/2100, 17/4/13
Canadian carriers:
Telus, 1700/2100, 4
Rogers Wireless, 1700/2100/2600, 4/7
MTS, 1700/2100, 4
My sneaking suspicion is that I have to go with AT&T in order to be on 1700 mhz and band #4, but thought I'd throw out this question before buying the S4. Really want to avoid AT&T.
Thank you!
