Need to hack screenlock password on Galaxy S4

Two weeks ago today my sister was hit and killed by a lightrail train in St. Paul. I have her phone in my possession (she and I share an account) and I need to get data off the phone. I don't want to do a reset. I need a password hack.

Have you tried Android Device Manager.

If you have the same account, log in and select Lock for that device. A new password / pin you enter will override the old one. However, the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop seems to have stopped overriding existing locks, so if it is on 4.4/KitKat and ADM was left enabled in the Security settings, it should still work.
