Why is the option to move some apps grayed out? I had a launcher installed that would ask me if I wanted to move apps, but I deleted it. Now I can't move anything because the option just isn't there. Galaxy S5, lollipop thanks.

You're actually only moving parts of the apps to the SD card when you choose that option. Some apps can't be moved to SD card (such as system apps).
I'm not sure why you can't move any third party apps at all though?
Android M is said to make life with an SD card much better but that's still a bit on down the line...

Thanks. No, I can move some, when I would download stuff with the launcher it would ask me if I wanted to move new apps. Now most often the option is grayed out.

Like system above mentioned, you're only moving portions of any given app to the sd card. A launcher I would recommend is Nova, runs silky smooth and you can really achieve a custom look.
