How do you turn off the Heads-up feature on Galaxy S6?

Lets say I'm reading an article from a website on my phone (GS6) and I get a text message.
A preview of the message drops down at the top of the screen. Is it possible to disable this "Heads Up" feature for the S6?

Settings then sounds n notif then go from there

This is part of Android notifications, all my phones have done this. I think to get rid of that, you'd have to disable notifications completely.

Go to messages where all your friends text pop up.

Hit the settings button go to notifications and adjust

You can't get rid of them unless you're rooted, I did it on my S5. They're so annoying.

Edit: if you're only worried about the messages app it can be disabled but globally they can only be disabled if you're rooted.
