AC Question

When I plugged in my galaxy s6 earlier it came up with a screensaver type thing and said "goodnight" and now it's not there.! What is it.??

I have been having the same issue for 2 weeks out so. I tried installing all recent apps but it still comes up. Even worse it blocks Google Assistant from working when charging. My phone can't unlock from my voice.

I hope someone figure it out.

My S6 started doing this tonight as well out of no where. My husband has the same phone, his isn't doing it. Hoping someone can help!

About new Lockscreen Overlay : Peel Help

And another thread about it: https://forums.androidcentral.com/s...1-weird-lock-screen-while-phone-charging.html

I disabled Peel and the screensaver went away. I'm looking for a way to remove Peel completely, bad move on their part.

Feel free to let them know it's not ok to install without asking: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...s/details?id=tv.peel.app&hl=en&token=QoCmNNqn

Dunno about anyone else, but I personally don't have time to read through all the updates my tech receives everyday.

Lol.

Yet another thread about Peel adding something that no one wants! What's up with those guys, anyway??

You don't have to disable Peel. If you go to your Application Manager, you can turn turn off permission.

Settings > Applications > Application Manager > More > Applications that can appear on top > Peel > off

The next time you open Peel, you will get a prompt to enable Peel on your security screen. Click cancel.

Thank you so much. This has been driving me nuts. I don't want my phone to say Hi to me or have to slide the pictures to get to my lock screen. Especially Peel decided to sneak a feature in there without the users knowing it is overboard. I'm really thinking about uninstall Peel Remote now.

Hey,
I have this on my s6 too. I actually don't mind it.
Is it going to do any harm if I keep it?
Will using the sound parts or anything effect my phone?

(This could be super rookie question as i don't even know what the peel remote is)

TIA

every time i plug my phone in it says goodnight, everytime i unplug it it says good morning. kinda annoying me, how do i disable it

For me, it was nuisance. I had a newborn sleeping in the same room and didn't want the glow. I can't say that it will necessarily cause any problems. I would hope that Google would pull it down as malware.

I like this new feature. It has an option to listen to soothing sounds to go to sleep to without using mobile data plan. However, it comes and goes intermittently and I don't know how to even access the screen to get the sounds. I've looked through my phone for hours, called Verizon my provider and no help. There is no rhyme or reason to the good morning and good evening screen. I went to Peel but I never set it up nor do I want to. So, where else can we turn to?
Thanks

Thanks for the info on Peel Remote app and it seems to have resolved the unwanted screen saver from popping up. I've disabled the app cannot uninstall it since it was one of the apps that was pre-installed on my phone. I have sent a email to Peel Remote and have received this message:

"We would like to acknowledge that we have received your request and a ticket has been created.

A support representative will be reviewing your request and will send you a personal response as soon as possible..

Thank you for your patience.

As soon as I have any response to my email I'll post it on here.

Well, it's good to know what was causing the new sleep screen.
I have more of a problem with how Peel went about it than the actual feature.
I would've preferred a notification of a new feature and a dialogue box asking if I wanted to activate it.
Barring that, something in the settings menu for the feature that indicated what program it came from.
The format of the features in the sleep screen made it look like it might've been a Google function in an update I hadn't noticed. Unfortunate that they went this route. Goodbye, Peel.

I have an LG V20 and I've been pretty happy with it.
What I'd prefer is if the settings for the LG IR remote program had been easier to port over to my new phone. It's simple enough to recreate the remotes on the new phone, but it's tedious. Tedious it is, then.

If the good morning / good night screens don't annoy you, that's cool. But... this topic is on several different threads, and I've seen that many have found what I found - that the Peel app is a battery hog.

This was happening on 2 phones. I thought I narrowed it down to weather apps. Uninstalled all that I could. Slide screen disappeared on one, not the other. Don't have Peel on the phone it worked on.

This has been an issue on my phone for a while - suspected it was PEEL, and now have peeled PEEL from my phone. Glad other folks posted here
