Android 6 (MM) changed things a bit.
Long press on whichever home screen you want your shortcuts on.
At the bottom of the screen select "Widgets".
Scroll to the "Contacts" group.
Select either the Direct Dial or Direct Message icon.
Drag that icon to the home screen.
It will then bring up your contacts, to select whomever.
If you have multiple phone numbers for that contact (home, work, cell etc), it will then prompt you for which contact number to add.
Choose Cruz!
This makes no sense. Where did the "add to home screen" option go?
I can't even find the widgets on the s7
Blessings! I NEVER would have figured this one out! For such a great phone, they really messed up on this one!
Go into widgets and under Contacts select Direct Message. How do you get the S7 to put a text shortcut when there are multiple numbers for one contact? It only goes to the default or main number.
