Default Music app crashes on startup

I downloaded the music player from the play store and the galaxy store and both versions don't seem to work, everytime I start up the app I get the "Unfortunately Music has stopped working" message, I've tried clearing the data and cache and resetting and rebooting my phone. Ive tried using google play music which works fine but I prefer the default music app which worked perfectly fine on my s6

Welcome to Android Central! The stock Music app should have come with the phone--what were you downloading from the Play Store or Galaxy Apps Store? Was it trying to update your current Music app?
