Pop up notification not working

Anyone know why pop up notification does work? All I get is an icon at the top of the screen. I have the option turned on.

It's all apps. The only thing that works that isn't a Samsung app is hangouts. Gmail or anything else no luck.

I get them on mine but shut them off too annoying have you tried restarting device after changing settings? This usually works for me. Check application permissions in settings also.

What launcher are you using? I miss all emails not looking up at the top of the screen.

Not liking this phone so far. Notifications not working and Samsung removed a lot of things that made me come back to Samsung from an iPhone. Can't add weather to the lock screen and can't customize the built-in messager anymore. If I have to pick third party apps for everything I can use a nexus device.

Did you check under more settings.

More settings just take you to the settings inside the app

Not all apps have the popup. I contacted the chompSMS devs about it, since their app doesn't have it, and they had no idea what I was talking about.

You would think Gmail had it. Maybe I'll look at inbox to see if that does.
