S8 AMOLED screen burn in navigation buttons?

View attachment 254337

Okay so this topic might have been brought up before. Worried that the white navigation buttons which is constantly being displayed at the bottom will burn in quickly. Once AMOLED screens burn in, it's over and non-fixable. If you're owning this phone for over a year, it might burn in eventually. I've never experienced burn in on any of my Galaxy phones in the past because I'm careful not to leave the screen on too long (turn off the screen when using Google maps). But now that the navigation buttons are displayed on screen, there's a chance.

Any long time Nexus 6 or 6P owners can comment? (Owned for at least a year)

Example of screen burn in:

Damn, I thought it was only me, got my S8 last friday, then when I removed the screen protector that comes with it coz I got my screen protector from Amazon, I notice a dot on the upper right corner on the status bar, thinking its just a dust, tried wiping it and tried using a tape coz i thought it got stack, then it never came off. is it really this bad with amoled screen? or it just samsung, had a NEXUS 6 before but never had this and currently my oneplus 3t.

I'm sure it will burn-in. I had a Nokia Lumia 920 with the best LCD screen, bar none. Even though it was more energy intensive I liked it because of the lack of burn-in and it's speed (60Hz refresh rate IIRC). I picked up the Microsoft Lumia 950XL when it came out and while the screens are superb, there is burn-in of the soft buttons. I can see it on both my wife's phone and mine though it isn't too noticeable. Still disappointing for not that old of a phone. I don't know who made the screens for the 950s but am hoping that Samsung has some way to minimize burn-in, I'm not holding my breath, though. My S8+ is supposed to show up this week sometime.

I am exchanging mine tomorrow, never had this on my NEXUS 6 and that thing has been with me for almost two years, until my son broke the screen=) if this thing happen again, might as well return it for good

In settings , display you can choose in AOD part and choose Clock and Information not to have the home button lit up and it'll still work ok.

I've had a Nexus 6P since December of 2015 till now and switched to the Samsung Galaxy S8. Yes, there was burn-in on the AMOLED screen, though it was very faint. Noticeable when watching videos, the colors are shown way off on the burn-in part.

(Taken on my S8 :p)

Nova Prime is so awesome I still think Samsung should buy the company and use that as their launcher. I would never use an Android phone these days without Nova Prime and Tesla unread
No no no, I do not want Samsung to buy Nova. They will change it and ruin it and then you lose the ability to use it in any Android phone you want.

Samsung has stated that the home button on the AOD screen moves to prevent burn in. I wonder if Samsung also made the navigation buttons move as well?
