LED Indicator not working ( Galaxy S8 plus )

So I've got my s8+ for 2 weeks now, and today my LED Indicator just stopped working...
Any help on this?

I have read of many people having this problem. One suggestion to try: Go to the phone dialer and dial this: #*0*#. A debug menu will appear, click the LED button (middle right). It should light up the LED, click the screen to cycle between colors.

Another suggestion would be to reset your phone. If neither one works it may be time to have it looked at by a professional.

personally I would not do either of those things. I would take it for exchange. Spending this much money the device should not be faulty.

Did you change your notification ringtone to silent for the app that is affected because this is a known Android bug that will cause the light not to function.

Well, all apps are affected, the LED just simply doesen't work..
I tried that debuging menu thing, and LED didn't even light up while testing.
Going to reset the phone, if that doesent help, I'm returning it.

Im having the exact same LED issue with my 18 days old S8!

The phone isnt letting me turn it on aswell!!!

Please tell me you managed to fix this?

For those with the issue, have you tried clearing all apps cached data and Wipe cache Partition in Recovery mode? If it's a software glitch doing this can help, at least it won't make it worse, can't hurt by trying.

Yes, unfortunately nothing worked. Im still stuck with a seemingly defective LED indicator that must have been a production line error. No charge light, nothing.

I know this may sound dumb and I hope you don't feel offended by me just asking this but after so many years on this forums you won't believe the amount of obvious things people some times just take for granted or overlook.

So with all that mentioned, do you still have your LED indicator turned on in the Display Settings? If so, have you turned it off and on again and reboot after that just to see if it triggers it back on? If this doesn't work either, and you have done the clear and Wipe cache, then only thing left to do before asking for warranty service would be a factory reset.

Yes, thank you for your kindness and willingness to try and find a solution. I tried everything, and indeed, the final things that need to be done you named.

I am really disappointed with the build quality, if I look across forums this seems to be a problem for several S8 owners. This will be a great lesson for me not to buy newly launched phones.

I cannot miss my phone, so I will - for now - have to learn and live with it. I will keep reading this thread, perhaps some miracle solution will be found. Thank you again.

Unfortunately this seems to be related to the Samsung LED cover case, and can only be turned on if you purchase the case. Most likely it has nothing to do with the LED indicator that likely broke.

I really hope they fix that, why would I buy 60€ case if I don't want to use it...

just an update guys - Softvare update just came up, after updating LED indicator works fine...
It was their mistake haha.. Thanks God I didn't took my phone to repair..

Hi I joined this website to give you a fix, mine was disabled and could not be enabled, what I did is disabling everything then just enable the led icon editor and then enabled the rest, now it's working fine.

Awesome!!!!!! Where did you see an available update? I did not receive such a thing. On sammobile I did see new updates available for my S8 version though.
