Of all the things an Android smartphone should be able to do, excellent phone call and text message management is one of them.
Removing the ability to identify a caller or text message without having to look at the screen is a huge TAKEAWAY and should be seen as a debilitating bug.
For people driving in their cars to have to look at their phone when they receive a text, this can be a disaster in the making. For those of us with multiple priorities, the inability to determine who is calling without looking at the screen is, again, a major inconvenience and reduces our productivity. Please consider adding your voice to this issue to empower those "decision makers" who broke it to put it back the way it was.
I was with you right up until you mentioned driving. If a text comes in, it will be there when you're safely parked.
