I was very enamored with my Galaxy sII 10.1 tablet until I recently added my work email account which required I encrypt the device. Now it performs very slowly and frequently gets hung-up, so much so that I dumped the work email account. Is it true that in order to reverse the encryption I must do a factory reset? Will doing this reset solve my problem? What is the best manner to do the reset? Have there been any OS upgrades that I should install at the same time? HELP!!

To answer your question, yes, you will have to do a factory reset. Encryption can be very taxing, as certain protocols must be followed to access data on your device.

As far as the way to fix it, a simple factory reset from the settings should be sufficient.

As always, after your factory reset, you can check for updates, through the software update hub, in your settings.
