My Samsung Galaxy tab 3 has static in the speakers, how can I get rid of the static?

Samsung Galaxy tab 3 has static in the speakers

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 that I have had for over a year and recently when the speakers are on there is a lot of static. There is also static when I use headphones. Any idea what could be the problem? The static seems to be intermittent. Very annoying.

Welcome to Android Central! That would imply some problem with the actual sound processing, rather than the speaker itself. Does it persist after a reboot? How about a cache partition wipe? It persists after a reboot, cache partition wipe and it persists in safe mode. I even tried a factory reset, no luck. Any other suggestions?

I'd guess there's a hardware issue. You could try re-flashing the firmware via Odin, but I'm not sure that would do anything: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...w-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html. Find the firmware here: Firmwares - SamMobile
