Why is my battery life on my Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1 so terrible?

Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1

Bought this unit at Costco 5 months ago and have loved it. In the last few weeks the battery life is non-existent. For example, fully charged it to 100% overnight with the unit completely off. Took it off the charger and then powered it up 3 hours later and it showed 75%, so it drained 25% while fully off (not in sleep mode). With wifi and everything else turned off, started a movie with standard brightness and volume. In one hour went from 75% to 40%. The battery was dead in another 20 minutes. Any suggestions?

I'm having battery issues with my Costco tablet as well.

I'm pretty frustrated. I'm actually pretty close to selling it for parts on Ebay.

I wanted something reliable and didn't get it. I really hat to admit it, but I might buy an iPad.

Same here. Just got my device today. Within 30 minutes,my battery went from 100% down to 89%and all I am doing is reading CNN. The brightness is low too.
