Can I make or receive calls, and reply to messages on galaxy watch bluetooth version(non LTE)?

It obviously need to be connected to you phone for calls to work, I never use my phone while driving but it is very handy with the watch to just have quick glance who it is, and IF decide to swipe and answer I don't find it distracting the as answering the phone would be.
I hope the Watch will work well with the new buds
