Samsung Pay "Syncing"

I'm wondering how Samsung pay on S2 works with Samsung Pay on the phone. In particular, Samsung Pay now has a rewards program and also gives you a history of recent transactions for each credit card (including transactions not made through Samsung Pay--I think). I noticed that it takes a while for a transaction I make on the watch to show up on my history on the phone and I still can't tell if it knows I used Samsung Pay or just thinks it's a normal transaction.
Is there a way to manually cause the phone and watch to sync information?

FWIW. purchases on the watch do seem to count toward rewards (after some unpredicable amount of time, the phone updates), but not all purchases seem to show up on transaction history for a particular credit card.
(Though key aspects of this work great, there's still a bit of a beta feel...)
