Rooting a Cell south Hero on a mac.

I am considering rooting my hero because I am tired of waiting for 2.1 to roll out. My question is has anyone with Cellular south done this without errors or bricking the phone? Also I have a mac but I dont think that will be an issue.
I saw on XDA about the Cellular south root but just want some feedback on it.
Anyone please. I am tired of waiting for 2.1

I have rooted several cellular south heroes. It is more difficult than rooting my nexus one, or other android phones. Only difficult step is making sure you have the gold card set up right. Some micro sd cards will not allow you to set up a gold card. Take it slow, read the root guides on xda and unlocker, and enjoy the 2.1 goodness.
