Creating new folder for files (images)

So, lets say I wanted to create a folder to put files in, say images, how would I do that?

I have to take pictures for work on my phone alot, but don't necessarily want it to appear in my gallery, so any one can flip through and see them. I dont want them wasting space in my gallery, and would like to have a single dedicated file to store my work pictures in, seperate from my gallery.

How can I create a seperate folder that I can access to view these files solely, without being able to see them in my gallery?

Off the top of my head, if your aim is to not allow just anyone snooping through your photos, there are apps available to password protect/lock them. Such as Gallery Lock (Free), Gallery Lock Pro ($1.00), Smart Gallery(Photo Vault+) (Free), etc.

In regard with creating a separate folder for those files solely without being able to see them in your gallery, you can try this: go to the "My files" app in your app list on your phone, go to settings>create folder and moving the photos to that file from the DCIM folder. That may work in helping the photos to not be available in your gallery. If that doesn't work you can try putting that folder as a sub folder of another folder thats already there in the list, like a folder of an app you downloaded or something. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Let me know if that works out for you.

I'm curious though, why is it that you don't want anyone but yourself to see your work photos? My conclusion is, you either work for a government agency, or you work in the porn industry. Afterall, the E4GT DOES have a nice camera. lol

In my limited time with the E4GT, it seems like everytime I reboot, the gallery scanner finds every picture/movie/song on the device and on my SDcard no matter where it is. I think you'll probably need an app to hide them.

I think what he wants to do is to be able to seperate photos in seperate files so when going through work photos he dosent have to scroll through personal photos as well. This way he opens the work folder and there is nothing but his work.

If he wants to look at family he clicks on the family folder and dosent have to scroll through work pictures as well.

Anyone know how to do this?

Like it was mentioned above, create a new folder with your file manager, copy the pictures over and create a empty file called ".nomedia" without the quotation marks in that folder and the Media Scanner will skip it at boot time.

Ok, so I’ve got the folder created, but I don’t know how to move pictures from my gallery to the folder. I tried Copy/paste. And I can copy it, but I have no way of pasting it in the new folder. Doesn’t give me the option…any ideas?

Ok, I done effed up. Lol. I made a file in my “My Files” list called “.nomedia”, and now my gallery is saying that there are NO FILES in there at all. FML. I understand what you meant now, but how do I go about undoing that addition so I can view my media in my gallery again?

Can't you just delete that nomedia file you created?

Nevermind the .nomedia file just name the entire folder .pictures or whatever you wanna name it just put a dot (.) In front of it
