Not the most important issue, but question for Sprint users

Hello everyone,

I'm on my third(and hopefully last) S3. I've been with Sprint for many years and have always had the ability to call CS via the *2 function on the phone. I can dial *4 currently and get my minutes used, but none of the 3 Galaxy phones I've had allow me to call *2 for customer service. I called Sprint about this, who said they would need to do a complete wipe of the phone, etc. It's not that important, but a bit annoying to have to look up the phone number.
Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix?

Look up the number once, program it and be done

You can reach Customer Service from the app titled Sprint Zone. There you can view your total account and anything news related to Sprint. I believe they just put everything in one place to make it easier.

*2 just brings up the help section in sprint zone now. Then there is the option to call customer service. This may not work if you are rooted

I'm working on my procrastination issues, you just wait and see!

What's the difference in dialing *2 and dialing 611, the universal provider/carrier number? Far as I know, 611 works to get you to ANY provider...not just Sprint..but you can always program 611 into your phone and get the same 888.211.4727 that you get from dialing *2.

Then again, on my ROOTED and CUSTOM ROM S3, when I dial *2 and hit send, it takes me to a window where I can select "Call Sprint" ...plus many other options.

ANY Sprint based rom will do this, rooted or not, custom or not..long as it's based on the Sprint rom...

I never found it hard to keep 211.4727 in memory, and just add 888 in front of it..that's Sprint's number to call without a cell phone.

But forreal on the 611...it's only one more digit to dial.

Personally, I like the new *2 service. It allows you to call Sprint, check your account, find the nearest Sprint store, check your wireless connections, manage your device, update your profile, etc. Nicely done Sprint!
