Im still very new to the whole "Android" thing but I'm sooo glad I made the switch from the iPhone 3Gs to the Galaxy S2. Question: what the heck was my phone talking about??? It scared the hell out of me tonight. While plugged into the USB on my computer it started saying stuff like, "http dot equals backslash backslash equals..."

I closed all active applications and she wouldn't shut up. I said a quick prayer and looked for two sticks to make a cross...Is my Sammie possessed:mad: or I'm I a complete Android newbie??

I've now came across this issue every time I use Google Maps. Instead of turn by turn directions I get, "http backslash equals...." That doesnt make for a very good GPS experience. Is there any precedent for this or something I can try?

Try Settings -> Voice Input & Output -> Text to speech settings -> and make sure driving mode isn't checked.

I had the same issue.
In Settings -> Voice Input & Output -> Text to speech settings ->Default engine make sure that "Pico TTS" is selected. If Samsung TTS is selected, the Google Navigation will read all data that navigation app sends out.

Changing the default engine from Samsung to Pico is what silenced my background. I just kept changing things until I made a mess or fixed it. Thanks for the help.
