Galaxy S3 boot menu password doesn't work after rooting. HELP!

Hey guys,
I have a vpn login security for my work email on my GS3 that i have to enter when i reboot my phone or unlock the screen when i use it.
First time rooting my phone here. I used the auto root CF-Auto-Root-d2att-d2uc-samsungsghi747.tar and odin 3.07. Everything seems to have gone ok, but when i enter in my password, it doesnt recognize it. anyone know whats wrong or how i can revert back? Please help

I do not know what is wrong, but to revert back you can try the full unroot option in whatever superuser app you have.

so the issue right now is, my phone is encrypted. i cant get past my password to login to my encryption. does anyone else have this issue?

so if my phone is rooted but i cant get past the encryption login, should i just do a factory reset? or do i have to unroot first?

If you made a Nandroid backup just restore it. Most Company's with their VPN security will not allow a rooted phone on the system. Using it for Company business you will need to remain stock.

tried rooting phone last night, now the password i needed for encryption doesnt work.

phone is rooted i presume but stuck on lock screen 9 tries at password left

@GTWalling, the poor guy couldn't have done a "Nandroid backup" because his device wasn't rooted... He just rooted it and it's not usable anymore as he can't get past the encryption password screen (at the very early boot of the device)! So we're not going to hit your "Thanks" button on this one.

I know exactly what "rac3rsx" and "geteft" can feel because I just had the same problem today! Device was encrypted because of a corp Exchange account setup (which requires encryption). Wanted to root it, followed this procedure (How to Root Galaxy S3 (Canadian) SGH-I747M on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware - Honai of Android), which works fine by the way, but after the reboot, the encryption password doesn't work anymore! So the quick answer is "you're screwed", meaning you'll lose everything on your phone, but luckily, the phone can be saved.
I searched a way to recover from this very bad situation, but didn't find anything on the web. But your phone isn't "bricked", you can still factory reset it.
Just retrieve the stock ROM for your device (found mine here Firmwares | SamMobile) and flash it with Odin, the same way you tried to root it at the first time. Then go to "recovery mode" (Vol Up + Home + Power) and select "factory reset / wipe data", you'll lose everything, but you'll get your phone back with the default factory settings.

Now, if you still want to root it, it is safe to do it now (I did it with no problem), before using the encryption again.

Very annoying problem, I'm surprised I don't see more info about that on the web.
Anyway the moral of the story is DO NOT ROOT AN ENCRYPTED DEVICE!
