voicemail icon stays

If I get a call and it goes to voicemail and then listen to it. I have to remove the battery for the icon to go away in the top left. I have both virtual voice and the phone dial voice. Could they be causing some sort of problem if both are activated.
I delete it from the virtual voice on the phone and then go to my in box by calling my voice mail. Listen to it and still the icon stays till I remove the battery. Not even just turning the phone off and back on removes it.

Still having the same problem but now if i'm on the Web and the icon is there my phone freezes. I look at task manager and the Web is in red showing low memory and that's with no other apps running. Don't know if they are related but without the icon I have no problems
I am not rooted and all I have is GPS test, GPS status, Wifi analyzer and the library, Android zip, BS player lite, office suite, Strelok which is a ballistic program and jeepforum app.
All these things have been on the phone for a while. Most of them on a sd card.
