[07/DEC/21] BUL1 DECEMBER Security update

The updates just keep on coming.

Only 11 days after their bugfix update, BUKG, Samsung have begun rolling out their 3rd Android 12 release... the December Android Security patch for the S21 series of international devices.

Initially, as always, this is a staged rollout to the non-carrier branded, stock Samsung CSC codes first.

The Galaxy S21 international devices that will receive this update are...

• S21 5G model SM-G991B
• S21+ 5G model SM-G996B
• S21 Ultra 5G model SM-G998B

This latest release replaces the previous G99*BXXU3BUKG build on the international devices.

• Device security improved

It is a FOTA, (Firmware Over The Air), update and you can check... Settings > Software update... to see if it is available for you. Alternatively, you can connect to the Samsung PC suite, Smart Switch and check via that.

The update = G99*BXXS3BUL1

Download = 213.20MB

Build date = 30 November 2021

Release date = 07 December 2021

Camera version = 12.0.00.83 (no change)

One UI version = 4.0

Android Security patch = 01 December 2021

This is the 22nd stable update for the Exynos model in 316 days. Average = 1 update every 14 days.

TOP TIP: Wipe the phone's cache partition and use the Galaxy App Booster after updating.

Cool, at 330MB I'm guessing there's more than just a security patch...

I'm now racing my pixel 6 and S21 Ultra. Although I'm fairly sure Google have managed to tie their own shoelaces together and super glue mittens to their hands...

My S21 Ultra via AT&T says it's up to date at the Nov 22 BUKF. So, I guess something is coming since AT&T checks it out.
