1:1 aspect camera app?

I still have Marshmelon...I mean Marshmallow!...on my Moto G4 Play phone. Is there an extension I can add to my base camera app which would allow me to shoot at a 1:1 aspect ratio?

Most likely not, for the base app extension.
What aspect ratios does your current app support?

If your camera app does not support 1:1 -- and that seems odd -- you will probably need to download a different camera app from the Google Play Store.

4:3 and 16:9 only. It's the standard Google app. I also have CameraZoom installed. Same aspects; nothing for 1:1.

Frame the picture for 1:1, take it, then edit it yo crop out the part you don't want, leaving a 1:1 picture. Tht's all the app would do if there was one - crop out almost half the picture (in 16:9) or a bit of the width in 4:3.
