1/2 year later this phone still rocks!

Re: Still think V20's design is still better than S8 Plus

I think the better word is more practical. Definitely more durable but as far as looks go, that S8/Plus is really the dream. Gorgeos devices. Now if you add some flare to the V20 with a contrasting skin combo, the V20 holds its own in my opinion.

I never buy a phone based on looks

Me neither but you want the thing to look decent. But I sway to what fits my needs and that's why I picked the V20 over the Note 7 and boy did I ever get that one right.

Re: Still think V20's design is still better than S8 Plus

You can't pull down notifications bar with one hand because it's way too tall on the S8 Plus. V20's flat screen makes it easier to type and bezels are slim yet they give you some room to hold the phone, the S8 bezel is too small and I keep pressing the navigation key accidently. Let's hope the next V20 isn't any taller than it is now (the display that is) and it isn't narrow.

You don't have to pull down at the top of the screen to get the notification tray. You can literally pull down starting at the halfway point on the phone and the tray will still come down.

I think the edge sensitivity has been improved with the S8. On my S7E, I'd always be getting accidental touches on the edges but on the S8+, I'm not having this issue.

I agree with liking the shape of the V20 better. It's strange how tall and narrow the S8 and S8+ are. I also hate the location of the FPS. The V20 location is perfect IMO. Right in the middle on the back so left and right handed people can get at it. I am getting used to the S8+ though and I've only had it since Sunday. I think with a little more time, I'll be used to it.

Have had mine since late last October. No complaints.
I'm amazed at reading all the issues many say they have had....
I haven't had any real non-pilot problems, mine's a keeper.

Lateck,

I agree with Mike Dee. I have never bought a phone for looks. I will say this though, much more comfortable to hold than v10. I love this phone. Netflix and Hulu are so clear absolutely no lag.

You know what. Hardly anybody looks at nor cares which phone you carry. we all admire our own phones so go with what YOU like. Nobody looks at you g8plus or. iphone 7plus and thinks wow great phone I want to date that person.

You may be correct but when I had a Note 7 and now my S8+ I've had more than a dozen or so conversations where someone asked specifically about my phone?!?! On line at Starbucks or sitting alone during lunch someone would ask me something.

The V20 it occurred only a couple of times but the other two I mentioned it happened more times than not.

Usually they were asking about the iris scanner and now with my S8+ the facial recognition.

I've had several people ask about mine for things line how well the call sounded or great the photos look.

I'd rather have people ask about performance than because they thought it looked shiny.

In my comments about not buying a phone for its looks it had nothing to do with attracting other people or their comments. It basically had to do with looks being a major factor in purchasing.

Yes I got that. Just adding another facet to the discussion. Many folks choose phones they believe will impress. No phone impresses anybody unless you get an iPhone 8 a month before it's out or something.

Ya well all the guys were more interested in you than the phone right? Just a way to break the ice.

You think ??

I thought they were sincere with their inquiries and very much wanted to know more about those specific items I had mentioned??

Never got further than those short few minutes anyways ahem ahem!?!?

I would disagree as I've seen a few phones in the past that I wanted to know who made them and the same for me. You've never had anyone ask what phone you were using or say that's a nice looking phone? This especially happened when I had the yellow Nokia Lumia 1020 when it had some relevance.

All of that may be true but not a reason to buy a phone unless you are looking for attention.

Lol probably right.

I want the whole package. I want a nice looking phone that preforms good, feels good to hold, takes great pics, has no lag... I want a great screen that's easy to see in the sun and doesn't have any burn in issues. What the hell, through in a killer battery while you're at it.

Yeah, I want a phone that looks good too
