Flash a custom ROM and put your mind at ease. 4.2.2 is much better than 4.1.2 in my honest opinion performance-wise and also brings a lot of much needed features.

Open it and the red text at the top will tell you your CID. Unlocked, assuming you're in the UK, will be HTC_001. Not sure what Vodafone's be, or unlocked non-UK, but Google will tell you.
