Well I was on the fence about buying the batteries from ebay that were so cheap... LOL... Something about too cheap raises a red flag sometimes but I went ahead and took the plunge because I needed a fix for my phone not making it through the full day seeing as how im never around a charger..

So I bought the batteries and Ive been using them for a little over two weeks and wow im very impressed.. They are batteries for the touch pro 2 but as most of you know tp-2 batteries are the same size as our evo's.. They also come with a wall charger for the batteries which is great for 10 bucks.. They seem to last about as long as my stock battery and this may be a exaggeration but in some cases they seem to last a little longer.. Anybody that has been on the fence it cant be beat... I thought about the extended battery but I refuse to not have a case on my phone and with the extra bulk and new back case I knew I wouldnt be able to use my existing cases...

Yep, I got this same deal on ebay, the 2 batteries and the charger for 10 bucks...has worked out well so far. If they dont leak or explode we are in great shape!! :D

You should of payed ten dollars more for an oem battery. Because the five dollar one works good for the first month then the second month you get what you pay for.

We will see.. Cuz I have no complains as of now.. 3 dollars more that a extra value meal and Im happy..

hmm, ill keep this in mind. if it last 3 months, for ten dollars who cares. i just want a battery that i can throw in if i run out early in the day and i dont have time to charge.

Sometimes these batteries from unknown manufacturers have a tendency to leak, get super heated, or explode.

And this is based on what? I had a pair of these cheap Chinese batteries for my Treo, and they worked fine for the last 18 months or so. Where do you think the OEM batteries are made?

I have the same $10 for two batteries and a charger, and so far they seem pretty much the same as the OEM in performance. My best ever life with the OEM battery was 16 hours, with the aftermarket 15 hours. Given that these weren't identical back to back tests, I'd call it "close enough."

My one concern is that the charger is rated at 5.5 volts instead of the standard USB 5 volts. Not sure if that's a real issue, but I think I'll not plug my phone into the USB port on the charger just to be safe.

Yeah, I paid $6.29 for one battery and a charger, with the catch of waiting a month for it to get here from Hong Kong. I did this before for a Pocket PC and never had any trouble with it. It's years later and that one's still working.
And I verified last night that it's the same battery that's in my wife's Touch Pro 2.

I bought the two for ten with the wall charger as well and one of the two lasts slightly longer than my oem and the other slightly shorter. Between the slightly longer and my oem I can go about 30-35 hrs of heavy use with GPS on. I may spring for the 3500mah in a few months but for now I'm very happy with my batteries lives.

I've seen a good amount of Li-Po batteries for the EVO on Ebay.... Just a few words of warning: STAY AWAY FROM LI-PO BATTERIES!!

Yes, you can get them cheap, but they do have a chance of burning up during charging! These types of batteries are used in RC Helis now, and they usually ship with an asbestos/kevlar charging bag that you place the batteries in when you charge them. I have personally seen one of these batteries go up in flames, and it's scary how fast/hot they burn!

They are VERY volatile and should NEVER be left plugged in after the light changes indicates a full charge!

Just do a search on YouTube for Li-Po battery fires (or any combination to that effect) and you will see what I'm talking about.

Hey, i bought this on Ebay for 13 bucks, two batteries and a charger. Awesome value and they work as good as OEM IMO.

PS shipping said a month, took 5 days from Hong Kong to NYC

Guess im good, mine are Li-ion

I bought these two batteries and charger on ebay for $11 (two sets actually for a total of $22).

Here are my findings:

1) Batteries themselves work great (close to the same performance as stock battery but probably a little worse).

2) Charger does great with a battery inside it. Approximately 3-4 hours to fully charge from 10%.

3) USB port on the charger is not good - screen became inoperative whenever I would plug it in but it appears no damage was done. Also got shocked from the kickstand a couple of times when it was plugged into the ebay charger's USB port so I am not doing that anymore.

4) I read somewhere else (I think in one of the comments left in a different story on http://goodandevo.net) that one guy tried to charge the stock battery inside of the ebay charger and smelled something burning shortly after plugging it in. He advised to keep the stock battery out of the charger and I've decided there is no upside in attempting to prove otherwise.

Final Thoughts:

The batteries take virtually no space in my briefcase. If I am in a conference room, I can have a battery charging discretely in a corner of the room while having my phone right beside me during the meeting to check email, send texts and surf the internet (if the meeting is that boring) all while still having confidence that I'll be able to change batteries in the cab on the way to the airport and call home before my flight. If the batteries only last a few months as someone else suggested, who cares? $11 is definitely a small price to pay for this added convenience.

I have been using two eBay touch pro 2 batteries from launch day no problems in anyway yet. I have used eBay batteries as far back as my Samsung A900 all the way to my Pre and now my EVO... there are always risks...but my phone is rooted I guess that takes care of having a warranty anyways...oh well..LOL...cheers...

My oem battery charges fine in the batt charger.

However, my screen also becomes unresponsive unless unplugged (although it technically does charge it)

Yeah I dont plug my phone into that charger or my oem battery... Never trusted it enough... I think the batteries do well tho for what they are worth... I spend 10 bucks on nothing lol
