10 Reasons GS6 Is Better Than the G4

hi, i need some help pleas.first english is not my first langage so i can make mistake..i want to buy an galaxy s6 edge 128 gb unlocked..but i have some questions..i am locking for an unlocked phones with no carrier logo on the back..if i buy for the exemple the t-mobil 128 s6 edge at the full retile price..would i find in the device t-mobil’s app already pre installed in??
if it is the case, can i erase them?
and i want to know which carrier pre instal fewer or less app in the device? i know ATT and TMOBIL have a lot of app
pre installed in their the device..

As a person who's actually critical of every phone as you'll notice in my posts (isn't that what forums are for?), the battery degradation thing becomes a none issue with this service. Is this offered in Europe though?

The GN4 used as an example of a Galaxy device with rapid charging and a much larger battery has been out nearly a year so only time will tell whether Samsung will be replacing any GS6 batteries. I am optimistic that, by the time it would even become an issue, most of us will be on our next device or the one after that.

do they send you a new phone or refirb? Samsung replaces the battery on the s6 and edge for $45 in a day. it has to be at least a year and 80% or less. it's actually a decent deal. barring some must have technology, I expect to get 3 years out of my next phone. before wyldkitten told me about that I figured it'd cost at least $100 for someone to replace it. that definitely factors into the decision.

I think that you are a bit confused.

Samsung charges $45 but you have to live near an authorized Samsung repair facility. I don't. If like the extended warranty you still have to wait a year or more then that's silly. Why wouldn't Samsung take my money if I want them to have it for a replacement sooner?

The extended warranty is a different matter in that you need your device at least a year and have a bad battery. That has a deductible of $75, probably due to overnight shipping. In this case you will get the device before sending in your phone in the return packaging.

Maybe I'm mistaken or misunderstanding what you are saying?

But my point is that regardless that i dont trust Samsung made batterys, typically non removable batterys work well if you treat them well. My m8 is living proof that even a heavy gamer has a hard time destroying battery life on phones.

Guessing the GN4 was mentioned as an example of another Galaxy device that has rapid charging. The other take away was that we have to wait and see as well as the fact that the GN4 has been out a while. I have not heard of any battery degradation as a result of rapid charging.

The m8 has rapid charging and has been out longer than the note 4. I think the S5 also has rapid charging but could be mistaken.

Guess they thought a power hungry display, slower processor, camera and a lack of host of other premium flagship features with a plastic back with vegetable tanned leather would be enough to compete. Battery gonna get chewed up like the M9.

The display is more efficient than the G3 (so you're trolling or don't know some info), slower but same in day to day, it Noe has QC and wireless charging can be added in aftermarket, and I've seen reports of the G4 lasting longer than the M9. (I've seen a ton of reviews.)

You can also hit them by mistake. You shouldn't have to resort to yoga to power on the phone or change the volume.

You can hit any power button on mistake (unless its on top) and you shouldn't have to do yoga considering how a "normal" person holds their phone.

6 things that could have made the LG G4 better

LG had all year to do more than the GS6. Just take a look at the camera. Added a great looking display. Then, skimped on chipset, RAM, excluded built in wireless charging, mobile payments, fingerprint scanner, IR blaster and went with a heavy looking UI. On top,of that, some will be dealing with Lollipop issues. Definitely would trade vegetable tanned leather for more of the same premium features of the GS6. That's not to say that the GS6 could not have been better but LG dropped the ball worse, based upon what we know so far, than Samsung or HTC.

You are being a little bit dramatic about things. Do you really think every smartphone needs a FP sensor to compete with the S6? No. They couldn't go to a 810 so where do you think they would've gotten a chip set? The G4 has an IR blaster. I think you're just either trolling or extremely misinformed. And people have reported having problems with Lollipop as well. Nothing new there..

Point is that battery degradation doesn't appear to be an issue with rapid charging phones. It screams up to about 80% and toppers off. Doubt Samsung is hurting for revenue enough to deliberately include an accessory to damage an expensive device for $45.

I'd agree. The G4 is too big for me too. It's phablet territory. I don't think they could figure out if they were going for the S6/iPhone 6 or Note 4/IP6+ and in the end positioned themselves in between. The replaceable battery is pretty awesome though. Battery degrades after 1 year quite a lot. Who wants to spend the time and money posting their S6 to Samsung? We hear all the battery problems right now, 18 months down the line it could be a hell of a lot worse. Swapping it out gives your device a new lease of life.





The S6 looks like any other S device except with glass and a horrifically protruding camera. It looks like it was designed by a committee of accountants. How can this thing win any design plaudits? It's the same design! It's an incredibly repetitive and safe design. The Edge looks much more distinct and unique. I'd take the G4 design over the regular S6 - the red leather looks great - but yes it's just too big. Not sure why they chose 5.5" and made it the largest and fattest device in the series to date

The G4 has a great display and camera as well as possibly a pretty good processor. DDR3 RAM vs DDR4 RAM. No UFS 2.0. Lacks built in wireless charging. Lacks mobile payment system. Lacks fingerprint scanner. Doesn't appear to support Qualcomm 2amp quick charging. Lacks premium materials. Vegetable tanned leather on a plastic back cover doesn't count.

Its not like the S6 has a different design than any other S phone. So why does glass and metal get a pass for a new design but leather doesn't? Hypocrites.. Just trying to reassure yourself of your purchase...

I am sorry if I misunderstood. Could you elaborate more on this then (see below)? I didn't quote you to the T but you did say S6 owners would be getting a new battery or phone in 12 months (implying that the battery can't last more than 12 months).

what's hysterical is in 12 months, all the S6 owners are gonna pay $45 for a replacement battery, or just get a new phone.

Having an available leather back that's by all accounts great feeling counts IMO. The fact that it's not standard on all G4's is a knock against it, though. Every S6 is metal and glass, but some G4 owners (still haven't seen specifics on which carriers get what backs) will need to search out the leather if they want it.

Hold an S6 Edge and see if you still feel the same way. You can tell a major difference when holding either device from the S5, but the Samsung logo/speaker/front facing camera and the physical home button make it look like a Galaxy phone. That's it, though, and it's by design. They made huge strides in their design this year, especially with the Edge, and the results have been very positive.

wrong. if you live near one of the 2 places in the US (Plano, TX and LA) you can walk in. otherwise, you have to pay to have it shipped.

my quote was a response, if you caught what I was responding to it would make more sense, but on its on it can certainly be interpreted as such. no biggie.

12 months might not be fair, and I'm only arriving at that due to my own S4 battery breaking down about then. the last thing I want is for S6 owners to battery issues down the road, but my original point was that I plan on using my next phone for 3+ years, and I'm hesitant to sign up for a smaller, sealed battery.

OK. Then I wonder how anyone can claim that the G4 is any different than the G3. There are even fewer differences between them than there are the S5/S6.
