10+ turned off, but battery still runs down

I am not sure whether it's, once I'm done with my phones, I don't normally keep them, or if I do, pretty much don't turn them on. But my 10+ I still have it nearby. So I happened to turn it on today, and the battery was completely dead.

I don't recall the percentage it was, but I know it wasn't close to being dead. I factory reset it, turned it off, put it in the box, and let it be.

Is this normal?

How long had it been sitting in the box? A completely powered off phone's battery will still discharge slowly over time.

Hmm, that's not very long. Do you know if the battery generally drains quickly when you use the phone? I realize it's not your daily driver, but maybe you remember what it was like the last time you used it.

Also, where are you storing it? I'm guessing this isn't the case, but if it were stored some place hot, that would contribute to battery drain.

no, just like all the notes I've had, it had great battery life. It's weird...

If it happens again, it could be a sign of a battery dendrite (which means the end of the line for the battery).

will do. thanks dude.. lol, only thing bad is I factory reset it, and now I'll have to set it up again.. oh well, if I plan on keeping it, it's worth it.
If you have to factory reset it is worth it , let us know.

Will it happen again? If it's a dendrite, yes. If it's something else, no one can predict that without knowing the cause. (Don't store it fully charged. Let it get down to 50%, then shut it off and put it away. [Self-discharge is slowest at around 50% charge.])
